About the Harrisburg Band Boosters
Every successful band program relies on an active and supportive parent organization. The Harrisburg band boosters play an integral role in organizing fundraisers, providing chaperones for trips, and filling numerous other supporting roles vital to the success of our students and band program. All parents with students in band (grades 5-12) are considered members of the band boosters. The band boosters meet on the first Monday of the month and work closely with the district band directors to promote awareness and communicate partnership opportunities. We encourage you to be involved and show your support for your student performer.
Fundraising is an essential component in the maintenance of a high-caliber band program. Throughout the year the band boosters hold various fundraisers to fill the needs of the program. The primary fundraisers for the Harrisburg Band Boosters are advertising sales in the fine arts Playbill and the Spring Music Showcase hosted at the Washington Pavilion. The funds raised are used to purchase equipment and fund band student activities.
Students are also provided the opportunity to sell items online through a fundraising organization. This fundraiser is not mandatory, but is made available by the band boosters to help students earn money to offset the cost of the band trips. All profits earned are credited directly to the student seller.
