All-State Band Auditions

All Middle School band students are eligible to audition for the South Dakota Middle School All-State Band. The audition consists of preparation of 3 scales and 2 etudes. Students will then make a recording of their audition which will be forwarded to the All-State judges. Audition recordings must be completed by Friday, December 3, 2010.

The judges will review all audition recordings submitted from across the state and select the best auditions for membership in the 2010-2011 MS All-State Band.

Students from across the state who are selected as members of the All-State Band will travel to Pierre on Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5, 2011. The students will spend Friday afternoon and Saturday morning rehearsing together and will present a Grand Concert on Saturday afternoon.

Students are encouraged to begin working very diligently on the audition material. The audition deadline can sneak up on you!
